St. George’s seeks a History teacher beginning in the 2017-2018 academic year. Candidates must be prepared to teach students at every level in this four-year school. Specific assignment will comprise four sections, most likely with two preparations. We seek dynamic candidates who will energetically participate in the academic, afternoon, and residential programs. Master's degree and teaching experience preferred.
St. George's School is a co-educational, Episcopal school of 300 boarding and 65 day students in grades 9-12. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Middletown, Rhode Island, the school was founded in 1896 by Rev. John Byron Diman, whose founding words remain the School’s Mission today: “The specific objective of St. George’s are to give its students the opportunity of developing to the fullest extent ...possible the particular gifts that are theirs and to encourage in them a desire to do so.” With a faculty committed to working with students in all areas of school life, St. George’s continues to fulfill its mission by enrolling a diverse, academically talented, and well-rounded student body.
St. George’s values collegiality and diversity amongst its faculty, administrators and staff, and strives to support its students through a residential program that builds a strong sense of community, an athletic program that promotes physical fitness and healthy competition, and an academic program that challenges students through a broad, rigorous curriculum; therefore, the school seeks a candidate who will be energetic and eager to engage in every aspect of school life.
