Bucknell University's Department of International Relations is seeking to fill a 1-year visiting position in Human Security beginning in August 2017. Candidates are expected to have a PhD or ABD in Anthropology, Geography, International Relations, Political Science, or Sociology, or other relevant interdisciplinary degree.
We are seeking a candidate whose teaching and research interests are in human security, including but not limited to international peace and conflict resolution, disaster management, peacebuilding, economic, environmental, or food security, humanitarian assistance and relief, nongovernmental organizations, and health security. An ability to teach courses with regional focus other than Europe, East Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East would be considered an asset. The successful candidate will teach six courses for the academic year, which will include a course on Human Security, an upper-level course for majors on globalization, and an introductory level course on globalization. The remaining courses will be determined by the selected candidate's area of expertise. Interest in developing interdisciplinary courses that would appeal to a broad university audience is encouraged.
