The Department of History at Kalamazoo College invites applications for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position for one year—September 2017 through June 2018. The position involves teaching a two-term U.S. history survey and four upper-level courses, including a junior research seminar, over three quarters (two courses during each ten-week term). Field of specialization is open, but position is responsible for most U.S. history courses and will need to offer a variety of classes. The position also requires advising senior theses and administering comprehensive exams. Ph.D. (or evidence of imminent completion) required. Prior teaching experience is desirable.
