The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Columbia University in the City of New York invites applications for the Sakip Sabanci Professor of Turkish Studies. We seek a scholar of Turkish Studies with area of specialization to be determined, but with a strong preference for the social sciences, to be filled at the rank of professor or associate professor with tenure. The successful candidate may be a member of the faculty of any social science department within the Arts and Sciences, including anthropology, sociology, history, and political science, and will be the founding director of the Sakip Sabanci Center for Turkish Studies and will develop programming for the Center. Beyond teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the field of specialization, the successful candidate will sustain an active research and publication agenda.
