| Assistant/Associate Professor of History Founded in 1897, Piedmont College is a private, comprehensive liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,500 students at campuses in Demorest and Athens, Georgia. Piedmont College located in Demorest and Athens, Georgia, is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Professor of History to begin on August 1, 2021. This is a full time, 9-month, non-tenure track position with teaching responsibilities on the Demorest campus and online. Summary Description: The Piedmont College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a qualified individual to serve as a full-time faculty member for our History Program and provide: - Effective classroom teaching in all levels of History;
- Advise students in History;
- Scholarly development appropriate to a small private liberal arts college; and
- Service responsibilities to the department, school, college and community.
Qualifications: Education Working Conditions and Physical Effort: - Requires the ability to sit for periods of time, with frequent interruptions;
- Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending;
- Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work;
- Requires talking, hearing, and seeing as important elements for completing assigned tasks;
- Requires occasionally lifting and/or moving objects weighing up to 20 pounds;
- Requires the use of various electronic tools;
- Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremes;
- Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others: and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from management; and
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible to operate a school vehicle.
