Postdoctoral Teaching Associate

Teaching Postdoc. The Department of History at Washington State University seeks to hire a two-year-long teaching postdoc to teach the university’s core undergraduate course, “The Roots of Contemporary Issues” beginning August 2021, pending budgetary approval. “The Roots of Contemporary Issues” is a history course that helps students make sense of our complex world by focusing on the deep historical roots of present-day issues in global perspective. Applicants should demonstrate their ability to understand historical problems in transnational, comparative, or global perspective and to engage students in discussions relating to the history of social inequalities, the environment, globalization, diverse ways of thinking, and world conflicts. Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. at time of appointment and should have teaching experience and evidence of a commitment to underrepresented communities. Roots of Contemporary Issues postdocs are hired to teach a 4/4 load with one preparation.
