The History Department at Bowdoin College seeks applicants for a visiting assistant professor position in medieval history, c. 500-1400, with a focus on European history, broadly defined. PhD in hand by date of appointment preferred; advanced ABDs considered. This is a full-time position beginning on July 1, 2022; the initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of reappointment for two additional years, contingent on successful review during the first year. The successful candidate will teach two courses per semester and should design their curriculum to complement the History Department’s other offerings.
