Native American History
The History Department of Illinois State University, in collaboration with the Native American Studies Program, seeks to hire a nine-month probationary tenure-track assistant professor with scholarly expertise in Native American history, 17th-19th century preferred, with the appointment beginning August 14, 2023. This position is part of a University-wide interdisciplinary joint appointment initiative intended to strengthen offerings in interdisciplinary programs; the individual hired in this position will be expected to make substantive contributions to the minor in Native American Studies as well as to the programs in the Department of History.
