Assistant Professor of History, Modern Middle East
The Department of History at West Virginia University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in History with a specialization in the Modern Middle East, beginning August 11, 2023. This is a nine-month tenure track position with full benefits. We seek an outstanding candidate whose teaching and/or research specialization will contribute to one or more of the department’s four thematic strengths: gender and kinship; imperial and postcolonial societies; labor and political economy; and war and society.  The successful candidate will teach a survey course in World History as well as specialized courses in the Modern Middle East at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
