Assistant Professor - United States Labor History
The history department at Wayne State University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professorship in labor and working-class history in the United States, to begin August 2023. Located in the heart of Detroit, birthplace of the American labor movement, Wayne State University has a long history of excellence in labor studies and is home to the Walter P. Reuther Library, the preeminent labor archive in the world. This hire is part of a larger scale university reinvestment in labor studies. Topical specialization is open with a preference for scholars engaged in exploring labor’s intersection of race, gender, and/or immigration/ethnicity in the mid-to-late twentieth century.
