Visiting Assistant Professor in African American History
Position Overview The History Department of the University of the South invites applications for a 2-year Visiting Assistant Professorship in African American History to begin in August 2023. The department welcomes all areas of specialization (chronological, methodological, and thematic). Position Description Ideally, candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand by the time of the appointment; however, we will consider applications from ABD candidates. We seek to appoint a Visiting Assistant Professor who can teach introductory courses in African American History, a two-course undergraduate survey (capped at 26 students) in African American History, an advanced course on the History of the Black Lives Matter Movement, or African America
