The American Historical Association (AHA) seeks a full-time researcher for its project, Mapping the Landscape of Secondary US History Education. This is a one-year position, with an expected start date of July 1, 2023. Through a grant-funded initiative, the AHA is conducting a study of middle and high school US History curriculum. The project, already in process, aspires to establish an empirical grounding for ongoing civic deliberations about the teaching of US history in American classrooms. The research is organized into a three-stage process—matched to the three levels at which decisions about curriculum are made: the state; the district; and the teacher.
