Assistant Professor, Public History
The Department of History at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, in New Brunswick invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Public History to begin in fall 2024. The department welcomes applications from candidates who work in all regional fields and time periods but is particularly interested in scholars who work in the areas of historical memory, historic preservation, museum work, oral history, or digital humanities. A PhD in History is required; candidates must have received their degree by the start of the appointment. Applicants should have a strong research agenda in public history including publications in peer-reviewed venues and/or exhibits or other public-oriented projects in digital or physical format.
