Assistant Professor in Latin American history (excluding Brazil)
The Department of History at the University of Utah invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Latin American history, excluding Brazil, with an emphasis on the long nineteenth-century. This includes the Spanish-speaking Caribbean. Specialization is open to all thematic areas. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to research and to research-informed teaching at all levels of the undergraduate and graduate curriculum. The teaching load is two courses per semester. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in the history of Latin America, including a two-course Latin American history survey, and, upon occasion, an undergraduate course on historical methods.
