To fill the W. L. Lyons Brown Jr Jefferson Scholars Foundation Distinguished Professorship in Diplomacy and Statecraft, the Corcoran Department of History at the University of Virginia invites applicants in the history of “The United States and the World since 1865.” The strongest candidates will have a distinguished record of scholarship on the diplomatic, international, military, imperial, economic, or transnational history of the United States. We seek applicants whose work examines global processes in which the United States is imbricated, for example, global development, forced migration, global health, war and military occupations, the environment, human rights, decolonization, north-south economic relations, or transnational social movements.  Application Instructi
