GSU history lecturers are full time, non-tenure track instructors who make vital contributions to the Department’s undergraduate teaching and programmatic mission, with opportunities for promotion in rank based on the quality of one’s teaching and service. The Department of History invites applicants who are committed to creative, engaging pedagogies, the scholarship of teaching and learning, and the development of learning opportunities beyond the classroom. The Department welcomes applicants with a passion for teaching and mentoring students like those who attend Georgia State. Lecturers normally teach four sections of a lower-division survey in their area of expertise per semester. An upper-level course in area of specialization may occasionally replace one section of the survey.
