The Department of Central Eurasian Studies in the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies at Indiana University Bloomington seeks a tenure track hire (open rank) to fill the Roger E. Covey Professorship in Silk Road Studies. The appointment begins August 1, 2025. Applicants should have a proven track record of scholarship related to the overland and/or maritime Silk Roads and their relevance in the contemporary world.  Areas of scholarship could include interactions of societies, histories, religions, institutions, trade and economic developments, natural resources, great-power competitions, diplomacy, and security.
