The Department of Political Science, Public Administration, and History at Florida Gulf Coast University invites applications for an Instructor (I) of History with specialization in American history. The successful candidate will teach the state-mandated American history surveys (pre- and post- 1877) and, based on qualification and need, other undergraduate courses; be involved in course and/or curriculum development; maintain an active professional development agenda; participate on College and University committees and/or initiatives; and perform other duties as assigned.
The review process will start on January 15, 2025, and will continue until position is filled. Appointment will be based on a 9-month continuous multi-year contract starting in August 2025.

Master of Arts in History (Ph.D. Preferred) or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline.
Experience teaching undergraduate courses in the subfield of American Government, evidenced either by having served as instructor of record or as a teaching assistant.
