The Department of History at Williams College invites applications for a two-year Visiting Assistant Professorship in Japanese history, to start July 1, 2025. We welcome applications from scholars of any topic in Japanese history, during any time period. The department would particularly welcome candidates able to offer courses in Korean history. The History Department is home to a diverse faculty, and we have a demonstrated record of supporting colleagues from many different backgrounds. The candidate should be a dedicated scholar with a Ph.D. in hand or expected by September 2025.
