The History department in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a tenure-track position in U.S. history, with a specialization in U.S. history before 1865. The teaching load will be 5 courses per year, with a course on U.S. to 1865, a course on the Civil War era, and three additional courses at both introductory and advanced levels based on the successful applicant's interests. The department welcomes applicants with the ability to teach a wide range of thematic courses including but not limited to African American history, Borderlands history, colonial history, gender/sexuality, or urban history.  History faculty also regularly have the opportunity to offer courses in our general education and interdisciplinary programs.
