Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of History in the Department of History and Philosophy with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in History. Faculty are expected to teach courses of variable size and modalities, including large class sizes
Service to the Department/College/University/professional community is expected
Scholarship/Research expectations compatible with departmental expertise
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in History, or a related discipline, is required at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Research and demonstrable field experience which supports expectations for publication in accordance with an R-2 institution
Teaching field(s) compatible with department expertise. Effectiveness in teaching in different modalities and different course sizes, including large classes
Ability to teach African History, World History, Historical Research Methods, Research Seminars, and courses in Conflict Management and Interdisciplinary Studies
Experience teaching at the undergraduate level
Ability to work with Ph.D. students in KSU's International Conflict Management program and to offer courses in Interdisciplinary Studies programs
