The History Department at Oberlin College invites applications for a non-continuing faculty position in the College of Arts and Sciences in the History of Early Modern Empires. Appointment to this position will be for a term of 1 year beginning Fall 2024 and will carry the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. We are particularly interested in hiring scholars with expertise in African or Asian History. The incumbent will teach a total of five courses in the general area of the history of global empires during the early modern period, including an introductory survey, two intermediate level classes, and one advanced course in her/his area of specialization.
