Full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track appointment available to teach and perform service in the department of History to begin August 1, 2025. Renewal based on satisfactory performance and needs of the department.

Essential duties include teaching both halves of the U.S. History survey sequence, including teaching the dual-credit U.S. history courses for the local high school(s) on the high-school calendar; maintaining a teaching philosophy and preferred instructional methods compatible with department goals and resources; relating effectively with students, faculty, and other University personnel; teaching an equivalent of 15 hours per semester; develop and teach upper-division courses within U.S. history according to department need; advising and mentoring students on academic and vocational matters; performing departmental administrative duties as assigned; serving on faculty committees, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications include reaching ABD status or possessing a PhD in History from an accredited institution by August 1, 2025. Must have prior teaching experience in U.S. History Survey.  Must demonstrate expertise in and ability to teach both halves of U.S. History survey sequence.  Have a willingness to teach dual-credit U.S. history survey courses for/at local high school(s) in addition to TTU courses.  Ability to relate effectively with students, faculty, and other University personnel. Demonstrated teaching philosophy and preferred instructional methods compatible with department goals and resources. Demonstrates a commitment to the continued improvement of teaching, using research-based practices. Ability to advise and mentor students. Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be authorized to work in the United States without the University's sponsorship. 

Preferred Qualifications include experience teaching both halves of the U.S. Survey sequence; augment existing departmental specialties should need to teach upper-division courses arise within the department; demonstrate commitment to collaborative undergraduate education; have the ability to contribute to graduate and professional degree programs; demonstrate the ability to relate effectively with students, faculty, and other University personnel.
