The New York Historical is currently accepting applications for 2025-2026 Fellowship positions. Scholars at all stages of their career are invited to use the collections of The New York Historical to expand their scholarship using our world-class collections. Our unique fellowship program provides scholars with resources and an intellectual community to develop new research and publications.
Fellows receive hands-on guidance from staff at The New York Historical to support their research and growth.
Part-time Fellowships in the Center for Women's History pay a stipend of $20,000.
Full-time Fellowship positions offer stipends of $50,000-$60,000, plus full benefits. Please see the individual positions for details.
Library Fellowships run from September 3, 2025 through July 3, 2026; Fellowships in the Center for Women’s History run September 3, 2025, through August 31, 2026.
Applications will be accepted through Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 11:59 pm ET.
Applicants for the Mellon Foundation Predoctoral Awards in Women's History must be currently enrolled students in good standing in a relevant Ph.D. program in the humanities.
