The Department of History at Creighton University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor specializing in African and African Diaspora history, with preference given to those who have a special interest (in research and/or teaching) in science, medicine, or legal studies. We seek individuals committed to being outstanding teacher-scholars within a primarily undergraduate-serving college. The successful candidate will teach a 3-3 course load that includes 1st year courses in Critical Issues in Human Inquiry and 2nd year courses in Global Perspectives in History, both tailored to the expertise of the candidate. Teaching load may include upper division elective courses, depending on departmental needs.
Should the candidate elect, this position could be part of a cluster hire across the College of Arts and Sciences, forming a multidisciplinary initiative focused on the topic of Race and Social Justice as a line of inquiry in teaching and/or research. Qualifications
A Ph.D. in History is required to be in hand by the beginning of the contract
