The Institute for Advanced Study invites nominations and applications for a professorial position in the School of Social Science. The Institute seeks a distinguished scholar in any social science field whose work employs ethnographic approaches and focuses on regions outside the Western world, including Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. The ideal candidate will study local cultures in their historical contexts while connecting them to international and global frameworks and dynamics.
All specializations will be considered for candidates with exceptional scholarly accomplishments. This tenured position requires a distinguished record of achievement and clear potential for continued significant contributions. Additional qualifications include the ability to engage in interdisciplinary exchanges and meaningfully interact with visiting postdoctoral members.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $425,000 to $450,000.
